Dance GCSE
GCSE Dance is assessed using the following methods:
- Written Examination: 20%
(Externally Assessed) - Practical Examination of a set study: 20%
(Internally Assessed) - Duo/Group Performance: 20%
(Internally Assessed) - Choreography: 30%
(Internally Assessed) - Extended Programme: 10%
(Internally Assessed)
All Internally Assessed units are Externally Moderated by AQA
Students will be required to study a set work and compare it to several other professional works in at least two styles.
Candidates will need to display knowledge of at least two dance genres (e.g. ballet & modern).
Requirements
In accordance with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) as set out by the Government, GCSE's are a Level 2 Qualification (Grade 5 Equivalent).
Whilst experience & previous qualifications are not essential, due to the level of the qualification students must be able to perform to a minimum Grade 3 standard and understand relevant language.
