DRAMA GCSE
GCSE Drama is assessed over six units, with 60% coursework and 40% examined.
- Unit 1: Theatre Review - 15%
- Unit 2: Devised Practical Performance - 20%
- Unit 3: Project Report Evaluation - 15%
- Unit 4: Working Process - 10%
- Unit 5: Practical Performance from a text - 20%
- Unit 6: Written Paper - 20%
Students will have the opprtunity to explore backstage roles as well as acting. They will also have to study two texts. The current reading list includes:
- Shakespeare As You Like It
- Miller A View from the Bridge
- Naughton Spring and Port Wine
- Whittington Be my Baby
- Myers Walking with Shadows
Requirements
In accordance with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) as set out by the Government, GCSE's are a Level 2 Qualification (Grade 5 Equivalent).
Whilst experience & previous qualifications are not essential, due to the level of the qualification students must be able to perform to a minimum Grade 3 standard and understand relevant language.
GCSE Drama is conducted in Group Sessions
