Meet the Mayzmusik Teaching Team

May Williams

Music Principal

May is the founder of Mayzmusik.
She has been teaching for nearly 20 years, having taken her own grade 8 piano at age 17.
She was Musical Director & arranger for 4 years with a youth big band and has organised Rockskills Music Workshops for the past 14 years, although she has now handed over the reins to the younger tutors at Mayzmusik.

Here May continues to offer private Piano and Keyboard tuition as well as organising various events throughout the year, not to mention running her own team of teaching staff.

Pip Williams

Senior Guitar Tutor

Right from the 1960's Pip has been playing as a session musician for the big names, most famous of all being "T-Rex". Pip has previously owned record labels and has even written his own Rock Opera "Celtic Dreams", which has been succesfully performed by various theatre groups over the years, and was the debut performance of our very own "Visions in Glass" Theatre group!

Ted Topps

Ted is our Clarinet Tutor and is a very highly experienced musician and actor. He regularly gigs with local jazz men Keith Little's Hot Six all over the UK. As well as being an accomplished Clarinetist, Tedd also plays Tenor Sax, Alto Sax, Soprano Sax & Flute. He is the proud owner of one of the highly sought-after Yanigasawa Soprano Saxes which are also played by Jazz Contemoraries such as Gilad Atzmon & Pete King!

Lisa-Marie Wiliams ALCM

Head of curriculum

A highly trained musician and music teacher, Lisa-Marie not only offers Saxophone, Flute, Guitar & Bass Guitar at Mayzmusik, she is also one of the "Rockskills" tutors and the musical director and choreographer for our theatre group. Lisa-Marie achieved 98% at Jazz Saxophone Grade 5, currently the UK Record for highest result. She then went on to achieve Honours at Grade 8, and became an Associate of the London College of Music at only 19 years of age. Lisa-Marie is also a dancer and ballet teacher, and will be graduating from the British Ballet Organisation with a Diploma In Dance Teaching Studies in 2007.

James Clement

I.T Co-ordinator

Drummer extraordinare, James came to Mayzmusik as a late edition in 2005 when we expanded into larger premisis to offer Drum and Percussion tuition. James is also one of our "Rockskills" tutors and also Co-Runs the "Saturday School of Rock" during school term time. James is able to teach from begginers to advanced, and having acheived a 93% distinction at grade 8, can help others towards achieving their own qualifications.

Emma-Jayne Williams

Emma-Jayne is a profesional singer & drama teacher. She coaches vocals at Mayzmusik and is a tutor at the Cardiff & Monmouth branch of Helen O'Grady Children's Drama Academy. Emma took first place in the Rotary Club's Young Singer of the Year Award (Abergavenny) in 1999. She is also the Director of her very own part of the company, "Visions in Glass" Theatre group and is currently studying for her Teaching Diploma in Musical Theatre with the London College of Music.

Lewis Bray

Guitar lessons are by far the most popular at Mayzmusik and so in order to fulfil such a huge demand for these lessons, Lewis stepped in as the third Guitar tutor for us, offering unique training in advanced Rock techniques.

Lewis also Co-Runs the "Saturday School of Rock" workshops and arranges most of their music.
