Mayzmusik Success Stories
Since its launch back in 2000 Mayzmusik has proved ever popular for providing music tuition to those local and non local alike. We have had many successes over the years, starting perhaps with two former students who are now valued members of the Mayzmusik team, James and Lewis! Both used to have lessons with us when they were in school and having proved willing and able to pass on thier knowledge to others, joined Mayzmusik back in 2005 resulting in the expansion of Mayzmusik into another premises, as well as now being able to offer more lessons.
James and Lewis went on together with Lisa-Marie to enter Mayzmusik's first ever band grade award with Rockschool. In March 2006, the trio passed their grade 5 performance with a Distinction at 90%.
Setting the standard, they inspired more students to enter, resulting in more passes again in Nov 2006.
Student Success
In July 2006, Young Toby Evans achieved the highest result for Rockschool grade 2 Guitar out of all the 18 countries in the World that the Rockschool syllabus is used! At aged just 12, he passed with a whopping 96% and went on to perform at the Rockschool New syllabus launch in London, entertaining a huge crowd with his rendition of "Sultan's of Swing" by the Dire Straits

GCSE Success 2008
Five Academy students completed the GCSE Music Course with Lisa-Marie in 2008.
Through talent, hard work, determination (mostly to prove school teachers wrong!) they achieved some fantastic results.
Alex Hopkinson aged 16, Max Grabner aged 15, Dan Pugh aged 16 & Jonny Pugh aged 14 achieved Grade A's and Ben Pike aged 16 achieved a B Grade.
All five were very pleased with the results & the Academy is very proud of all of them.
Alex is going on to Crosskeys College to study Rock & Pop Performance, Dan is going on to sixth form in Caerleon Comprehensive to study Art & Science, Ben is going to Usk College to study Public Services, Max is going into Year 11 at King Henry & Jonny is going into Year 10 at Caerleon Comprehensive.
All five are continuing their musical studies at the academy, Alex, Max & Jonny continuing onto AS-level.
Robyn Allen unfortunately couldn't sit the written exam, but still achieved a D with only the coursework & performance units. Robyn will be retaking the written & staring the AS-level.
